Safety & Sustainability

We proudly support initiatives and projects that
enhance the viability of local natural resources.

Protecting the safety and wellbeing of our employees, local contractors, neighbors and other stakeholders is a primary focus of our company. The Meridian team aims to achieve this important goal and other long-term performance goals by building a sustainable, reliable business that promotes our core values and respects our natural resources, the environment and the communities where we live and work.

Meridian has an important goal to include and support programs that protect and enhance the viability of local natural resources, marine life and the communities in which our development efforts are focused. This is not a new concept for the Meridian team.

Wetlands Preserve

Several of our founders established an important wetlands preservation initiative, in partnership with the Galveston Bay Foundation. It is called the Meridian Marsh & Wetlands Preserve. The preserve is located at the site of the Galveston Bay Foundation’s Gessner Center in Kemah, Texas, on Galveston Bay.

This important marine preservation initiative includes the design and installation of a living shoreline and bulkhead that will continue to create new coastal wetlands to support biodiversity along more than 1,000 feet of Galveston Bay shoreline. In addition to stabilizing coastal waterfront, living shorelines also provide many benefits, including flood control, water quality improvements and marine species preservation.
