Founders

Jon Ackerman Jonathan

President &
Chief Executive Officer

Jonathan Z. Ackerman is a co-founder and serves Meridian Infrastructure as President and Chief Executive Officer. Jon leads Meridian's team of innovators and has overall responsibility for shaping culture and executing the company’s strategy.

Jon has a lengthy track record as a successful leader in infrastructure development and finance, successfully delivering approximately $10 billion of value for investors by developing world-class infrastructure over multiple investment cycles for some of some of the most sophisticated and largest volume import and export terminals in the world. He was instrumental in multiple exits involving divestitures of highly-strategic assets to three of the industry's leading companies.

Prior to Meridian, Jon co-founded Moda Midstream and served as its President and CEO from 2021 until Moda's successful exit in 2024. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Jon was Moda's Executive Vice President and CFO.

Before co-founding Moda in 2015, Jon served as Vice President, CFO of Oiltanking North America and Oiltanking Partners, L.P., the NYSE-listed MLP. Prior to joining Oiltanking in 2013, Jon was Managing Director, M&A and Co-Head, Strategic Solutions Group at UBS Investment Bank. In regard to his record in capital raising and strategic transactions, Jon executed more than $50 billion in debt and equity capital markets transactions, including several novel IPOs and structured equity offerings, and he executed more than 40 M&A transactions with a total value of more than $150 billion.

Prior to UBS, he served as Senior Counsel and lead policy adviser to President George W. Bush's Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform and, before that, Jon served as a policy adviser at the U.S. Treasury Department. Jon is a CPA and began his career with a global public accounting firm before becoming an attorney in private practice.

Jon received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, his master’s degree from the University of Denver and his BSBA in finance and accounting from the University of Arizona.

Javier del Olmo Javier

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Del Olmo is a co-founder and Chief Operating Officer for Meridian, a position in which he has overall responsibility for design, construction, operation and management of capital projects that implement the company's vision and strategy.

Javier brings Meridian more than 25 years of engineering, business development and commercial experience serving public and private energy industry companies that are developing and operating pipelines, terminals and waterfront infrastructure projects in North America and Latin America.

Prior to co-founding Meridian, Javier served Enbridge as Vice President (U.S. Gulf Coast Terminals), working for the company’s U.S. Gulf Coast Terminal Operations division.

Prior to Enbridge, Javier served Moda Midstream as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, co-founder and board member, where he was instrumental in the development and operation of the Moda Ingleside Energy Center, which ranks as the largest U.S. crude oil storage and export terminal by volume. The Moda Ingleside Energy Center was acquired by Enbridge in 2021.

Before the formation of Moda, Javier served as Vice President of Engineering for Oiltanking North America (OTNA). Previously, he served as General Manager of Engineering for OTNA, Business Development Manager of OTNA, Trading Business Development Manager in Latin America, Managing Director and member of the board of directors for Oiltanking Mexico (OT Mexico), and Commercial Director for OT Mexico.

While at OTNA, Javier was responsible for the design, construction and management of more than $1 billion in capital projects including pipelines, greenfield and brownfield terminal expansions, and waterfront developments. He built and led a high-performance engineering team and led business development and due diligence efforts for the acquisition of multiple assets. Prior to OTNA he developed a portfolio of projects in Mexico, established the company’s trading presence in Latin America’s Pacific region and managed operations for liquid and dry bulk terminals throughout Latin America.

Javier earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Universidad Simon Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela.

Ian Levine Ian

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Levine is a co-founder and serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Meridian Infrastructure, responsible for overseeing numerous functions including financial and corporate strategy, M&A, treasury, insurance/risk management, and accounting.

Prior to Meridian, Ian served as the Chief Financial Officer & Strategy of Moda Midstream since 2021, and prior to that as the VP, Corporate Strategy & Treasurer. He quarterbacked corporate strategy, capital markets and treasury, investor relations, investment underwriting, financial planning and analysis, and M&A execution for Moda. Notably, Ian led the acquisition financing and subsequent capital markets activity to support Moda's expansion platform and coordinated and directed multiple facets of Moda’s divestiture processes. In addition, he was responsible for research, analytics and underwriting of Moda’s business development efforts, including the acquisition of Oxy Ingleside Energy Center, joint venture investment decisions, and due diligence for dozens of third-party acquisitions and development opportunities.

Prior to Moda, Ian was a member of the energy investment banking team at Deutsche Bank in Houston, where he advised Oiltanking Holdings Americas on the company’s ~$6 billion sale of Oiltanking Partners to Enterprise Products Partners. Prior to working for Deutsche Bank in Houston, Ian worked in the bank’s New York office, where he specialized in debt origination for the broader natural resource sector, executing more than $40 billion in debt capital markets transactions for natural resources clients.

Ian received his BS in economics from the Wharton School of Business and BA in international studies from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.

Sean Riordan Sean

Chief Commercial Officer

Mr. Riordan is a co-founder and serves as Chief Commercial Officer of Meridian Infrastructure, where he is responsible for leading all commercial and business development activities, including origination, customer and partnership development, commercial negotiations and evaluating greenfield and brownfield expansion opportunities at Meridian.

Before joining Meridian, Sean served as Chief Commercial Officer of Moda Midstream from November 2021 to the company sale in March 2024. He was instrumental in developing new terminal growth opportunities across conventional hydrocarbon and new energies verticals.

Before joining Moda, Sean served as Vice President, Business Development at Caliche Coastal Caverns, a private equity-backed company that developed and operated liquids sub-salt cavern storage on the Spindletop dome and that was sold to Energy Transfer. Prior to joining the Coastal Cavern development, Sean was a Director, Business Development at Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) focused on developing and commercializing first-of-kind Natural Gas Liquids export assets.

Sean has significant experience developing U.S. Gulf Coast hydrocarbon and industrial gas infrastructure. His record includes sourcing an exclusive development agreement with an industrial gas major for brownfield expansion for first-of-kind clean hydrogen terminal project; he also originated, negotiated and closed an exclusive MOU joint development agreement with an industrial gas major for a first-of-kind clean ammonia export project utilizing CCS. Other projects on Sean’s track record include originating an LPG export opportunity at a South Texas Gulf Coast terminal, and originating, negotiating and closing a 20-year first-of-kind helium sub salt storage cavern and associated facilities.

Sean received his MBA from the Rice University and his BS in finance and Spanish from Trinity University.

Alan Beck Alan

Strategic Alliances & General Counsel

Mr. Beck is a co-founder of Meridian and serves as Meridian’s General Counsel. Alan supports Meridian’s senior management team in fostering strategic alliances with certain key customers.

Prior to joining Meridian, Alan practiced corporate law with Vinson & Elkins in Houston, Texas for approximately 25 years. He represented companies across the energy industry, including working with members of Meridian’s management team in connection with Oiltanking Holdings Americas’ sale of Oiltanking Partners to Enterprise Products Partners and Moda Midstream’s sale of the Ingleside terminal and related assets to Enbridge.

Alan has extensive experience representing clients in a variety of transactional and corporate governance matters. His private practice included representation of public and private companies, investment banks, and private equity firms in connection with IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and registered and private offerings of debt and equity securities. Prior representations included corporations, SPACs, master limited partnerships and alternative investment vehicles with significant experience across energy-related sectors. Alan also advised public companies regarding securities law and stock exchange compliance, and corporate governance matters.

Alan received his J.D. from the University of Texas Law School (where he was a member of the Texas Law Review) and he received a B.A. from Rice University. Following law school, Alan was a briefing attorney for Nathan L. Hecht, current Chief Justice on the Texas Supreme Court.

Paul Ramsey Paul

Mr. Ramsey is a co-founder and serves as Director of Engineering for Meridian Infrastructure, where he leads Meridian’s technical programs. Paul is also responsible for the development and execution of growth strategies for the company.

Paul brings Meridian significant experience in marine and terminal infrastructure design and operations, including leading various terminal projects which handled ammonia, LPGs, renewables, and specialty chemicals. Paul’s experience includes successfully executing more than $500 million in capital projects for customers; and he has developed greenfield terminals representing capital investment of ~$700 million.

Prior to Meridian, Paul joined Moda Midstream in July 2022 and has extensive expertise in both development and execution of marine terminal projects. He brings Meridian strong customer and partnership relationships and significant experience in evaluating greenfield and brownfield expansion opportunities.

Prior to joining Moda, Paul worked for Oiltanking North America, where he led the development and execution group for Major Capital Projects. Prior to Oiltanking, Paul worked as a lead engineer for Great Lakes Dredge and Dock, where he led marine projects in the U.S. and Australia.

Paul received his B.S. in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M University and a certificate in Strategic Project Management from Rice University.

Michael is a Senior Managing Director with Stonepeak and is Co-Head of Energy. Michael joined Stonepeak from First Reserve, where he was an Associate in the Energy Infrastructure Fund, focused primarily on the midstream sector. Prior to First Reserve, Michael was a member of the Global Energy group at Citi. Michael received a Master of Public Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

Peter Jones Peter

Director

Peter is a Vice President with Stonepeak. Before joining Stonepeak, Peter was an Analyst at ExodusPoint, a multi-strategy hedge fund where he covered energy and industrials. Prior to ExodusPoint, he worked at Citadel and First Reserve, where he primarily focused on energy. He began his career in the Energy investment banking group at Greenhill. Peter received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

David Kinder David

Director

David is an Operating Partner with Stonepeak and supports Stonepeak’s investments in energy. David is the former Vice President of Corporate Development and Treasurer for Kinder Morgan Inc. He was with Kinder Morgan from 1999 to 2013. His primary roles at Kinder Morgan included leading the company’s acquisition and divestiture program as well as the financing efforts of the company. David continues to evaluate and participate in energy opportunities as an investor and board member. David is currently on the board of Oryx Midstream Services, a crude oil transportation company in the Permian Basin, and Zenith Energy, an international liquids terminal company. Additionally, David is the President of TP Power, a Houston based power company, and is a partner at Sabine Property Partners, which focuses on commercial real estate opportunities in Texas. David previously served on the boards of directors of Western Refining Logistics and Sunnova Energy. David graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and minor in History from Texas Christian University.
